Although the winds were too heavy for balloons to float over the Canyon for the Pirates of the Canyon Balloon Liftoff, we enjoyed hiking the trails that run along the Canyon by West Rim RV Park. We found several minature caves and scenic overlooks of the Canyon. At one spot we could see horses running loose along the opposite side.
We would like to thank the West Rim RV Park for assisting with our feature and accommodating us.

Covering more than 20,000 acres and 120 miles long, Palo Duro Canyon provides a wide range of fun activities, from hiking, biking, rock climbing, and horseback riding.
While in nearby Canyon, a must see is the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. The museum contains a fascinating collection on four floors from Prehistoric to modern times. I especially enjoyed the Pioneer town and vintage vehicle exhibits. Set aside a solid three hours to view the museum collection.
While in town we enjoyed eating at Feldman's Wrongway Diner.
